How anger impacts within sports

Sports is absolutely one of the common things that most people definitely enjoy doing. It is absolutely one of the funnest things to do especially with family and friends.  It is also fun if you do it competitively.Iit is really something that most people enjoy much whether it is professional or amateur.  But sometimes that competitiveness can go way overboard. Sometimes that spirit of competitiveness can actually lead to anger. In this article we are going to closely look at and discuss anger within sports and how it hurts or helps.

There are really some sports now that are seemingly violent just like football or boxing. But is there really a place for anger within those sports.  Some people say there is, but what I have found from my San Diego sports psychology practice is that anger is really a detriment.Even in a seemingly violent sports, you can’t really think with brilliance when a person gets angry. And contrary to popular opinion most sports are a mental game and not just physical.

So my personal contention is that there is definitely no place for anger in sports. Sometimes our very competitive nature that is built within us makes us angry when we lose. But definitely, we cannot get angry when things don’t go well if we want to succeed in sports or life. That is really a real recipe for a total failure.  And for those parents that do put their children in sports and want them to succeed I always give them advice. The advice I give them as a family counselor San Diego is to teach them how to control their anger.

But sometimes to motivate themselves, some people actually do use anger. Sometimes, it just works for a time.  But in reality sometimes that anger boils over into personal life as they begin to lose the ability to control it.  That is when I end up seeing a lot of patients in my anger management counseling services.

So in reality we all surely get mad at many times in our lives. But we have to know how to control it in order for us to truly be successful in anything like sports.
