Anger & Depression – emotions which can wreak havoc if not given attention

Depression and anger are both negative emotions. But they seem to be on opposite sides.  One of the emotions can be very visible. While the other one can be unnoticed.

As a family counselor San Diego I have seen both emotions. Both of them if too serious need addressing. These are not problems which someone can just ignore. When you are angry you can hurt other people. You can harm yourself if depressed.

Let’s talk about anger first. Anger is an emotion which can be explosive. It is natural and it happens to all of us.But people sometimes release all their pent up anger. It could seem uncontrollable sometimes. If you let it get the best of you then that’s a problem. But those will be the times when you have to control.Other people can be hurt physically or emotionally due to anger.  If it gets too much you need to seek some anger management San Diego.

The other emotion is depression. It may be unnoticed not like anger where it is very obvious when experienced.Holding in their depression is one of the top reasons.Of course it can get noticeable. When it becomes noticeable, then that would be the time that someone have to seek professional help. Why would a depressed person need professional help?Because harm can be done by a severely depressed person to himself or herself.People hide it that’s why it is or can be dangerous.  If a person gets to the point of severe depression they need professional help such as depression counselor.

It can be hard on someone to deal with emotional problems.  Most people going through these types of problems feel like they can work it out.Or they feel like they can solve their problems on their own.But at that point they need all the help they can get.  It is a hard thing for them to accept. But when you are dealing with emotions that can hurt the affected and the people around him, then you need to do it.

Anger and depression-emotions that can get out of control

As people we have been blessed with things such as emotions.  We have positive emotions. But we also experience emotions that are negative. In this article, let us take a closer look at some emotions that can become negative.

Why we need to take a look at these two is because they are emotions that could need professional help.We all have gone through joys.We all can go through emotions like sadness. We have our moments when we can experience anger as well. But sometimes there will be occassions when our emotions get the best of us.  This is speaking from experience being a family therapist San Diego.

First lets examine the emotion of anger. This is an emotion that is extremely volatile.Everyone has experienced this emotion. But for quite a few people it is possible that it will get the best of them.  When I say get the best of them I mean they get out of control. They often times may take their anger and express it in violent terms. That is why it is so dangerous.  I have seen it go too far too many times doing anger management counseling. That is the moment when it must be handled professionally.  Because it can cause damage to other people.

The other emotion is depression.  Doing depression counselor has allowed me to see how this emotion can be dangerous as well.  Usually this emotion doesn’t hurt other people directly.  But this emotion can cause somebody to hurt themselves.  There are many causes.A chemical imbalance can be it’s cause on a few occassions.  That is when it needs to be treated with medicine.  Or it can be an event that causes the depression.Either situation, when there is someone who experiences it, they could need some help.

As you can plainly tell these emotions need to be kept in check.Doesn’t matter if it is anger or depression, both of those emotions can cause serious problems.Either to people that are around you or yourself.  So if you see somebody experiencing these emotions excessively, they may need counseling.  It is best for everyone.

Emotional Hurdles of Today

One of the special things we get to experience as human beings are emotions. Emotions are very powerful parts of being human.Emotions that we experience like joy, love, anger or even pain. are very powerful emotions we experience. But quite a few times it is because of that very fact that we are emotional that can lead to problems.

I would like to address a couple of strong emotions that sometimes needs professional help.  They are anger and depression.  Two seemingly different types of emotions but both can lead to major problems.  I have seen it first hand as a therapist San Diego.

I say it can lead to major problems because they both can lead to violence.  In the case of anger it can lead to violence against others. In situations of depression, the results can be use of violence against themselves.

When you are addressing a situation like anger, it can be a very sticky situation.  As mentioned earlier, it is an emotion you need to control.Because as we are well aware of, a few people, when angry, can do some bad things. It does not necessarily need to be physical, it also can come in the form of emotions.  If that is the case you need to address it through anger management counseling.

Now in regards to depression, this is a dangerous problem as well.It is a dangerous problems, because sometimes you might not even know about it.In others words you could possibly not even know when someone you love is going through depression.  When that happens, terrible things happen that weren’t expected.Problems like suicide.  I have seen it happen to often doing depression counseling.

If you sense you are in a state of depression, treat it immediately.Because before you can even think about it, the situation could have gone too far.The people you know and love may not even be aware of it.  When that happens it can be too late.So treat it early and quickly.  It can be helped.

As you will notice, emotions are in general good things.  But they also can cause problems.  By learning to deal with the problem emotions can be helpful. It doesn’t matter if you address it yourself or by another person, just make sure to take care of it.

Emotional Hurdles of Today

One of the unique things we experience as humans are emotions. Emotions are a very strong part that makes us human.  Emotions such as love, joy, pain, anger, etc. are very strong feelings we experience. But a lot of times it is due to the fact that we can get so emotional that it leads us into trouble.

I would like to talk about two very powerful emotions that in a few situations, require professional attention.  They are anger and depression.  Two seemingly different types of emotions but both can lead to major problems.  I have seen it first hand as a therapist San Diego.

I say it is a big problem, both of them, because either one can lead to violence. In the problems like anger, it sometimes causes violence to erupt against others.  In the case of depression it can lead to cases of violence against one’s self.

When you are talking about anger it is a very volatile emotion. As I said earlier, it is an emotion that has to be taken control of.Because as we are well aware of, a few people, when angry, can do some bad things.  It doesn’t have to be physical, it can also be emotional.  If that is the case you need to address it through anger management San Diego.

Now when talking about depression, this issue is a serious problem as well.It is very dangerous because a lot of times you might not even be aware of it.  I mean you might not know if a loved one is experiencing depression. When that occurs, bad things can happen that weren’t planned.Problems like suicide.  I have seen it happen to often as a depression counselor.

If you sense you are in a state of depression, treat it immediately.Because before you realize it, it might have already gone too far.Loved ones of yours could even possibly miss it and not be aware of it.When that occurs it may be too late.So treat it early and quickly. It can be treated.

As you see emotions can be good.  But they also can cause problems.By learning how to address and tackle the problems emotions can be very beneficial. It doesn’t matter if you address it yourself or by another person, just make sure to take care of it.

How to cope with depression

In this lifetime there will be many happy times and joys a person shall experience. But the other factor is that heartbreaks and sadness can happen many times.  Obviously, emotions such as joy doesn’t need to be addressed. But some emotions that are negative like sadness or a heartbreak can
lead to cases of depression.

Well in this article I am going to share some advice I have learned through education and practice as a family counselor San Diego.

Plain and simple depression is one of the hardest emotions to deal with.  Once a person starts becoming depressed because of things that happen in life, it takes professional depression counseling to deal with it.

Now there are several types of depression.Severe types of depression could be some sort of clinical depression.Often times, through medication is going to be the only way to treat that. This can be caused but it doesn’t have to be all from the different circumstances.A chemical imbalance within the body of the person depressed can be the cause of it.

But if the depression is not caused by some sort of chemical imbalance, but due more to circumstances, counseling may be the best option to take.

The causes of depression varies among people. What barely effects one person, can cause a severe case of depression in another. What make it difficult in trying to deal with someone who has depression is the fact that they are already fragile emotionally. It is going to take counseling that is compassionate to be able to deal with it.

Not being familiar with the way to talk to a depressed person can be devastating.  Extreme instances of suicide could happen.  Or even depression causing a person to not be able to function socially could be a result.

It is in those types of times that the depression will have to be dealt with by a depression counselor. It is a delicate balance you have to use to determine if a perons is just feeling depressed temporarily or is it a sign of a severe case.

Communicating with someone and checking to see if it goes on for a few weeks will be a good indicator.  If it does go several weeks, you may need to seek professional help.

With what is on the line in terms of how a severe case of depression can lead to, it is one of the emotions you don’t want to leave untreated.

It can also happen to adolescents, and if that is the case you may want to seek some San Diego adolescent counseling.

How to fight Depression

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions. If you leave this emotion untreated, those suffering from it severly could be lead to something more serious.

Everyone has those moments when they feel unhappy. That is normal. But clinical depression is something much more than that.  It is a disease.  But it is treatable.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So when does depression become clinical depression?

First off, a person can feel hopelessly sad. This when someone feels like everything is pointless.Or life isn’t worth living. Which could lead to feelings or thoughts of suicide.

This usually can last for several weeks if not longer.  When you have depression that lasts that long, you are moving into the clinical depression state.

And when you get to that point, you need to see a counselor.  Do not leave your condition untreated when it hits that point.  Believe me I know with all my experience as a depression counselor.

So once you are at that point, you have to do certain things. Because sometimes imbalances in your body or chemistry in your brain can cause depression, you may need to treat it medically. You could use antdrepressant drugs as treatment.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.  A counselor can help a person get to grips with the root of their depression.

They can use another form of therapy such as cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you think.  The goal being to question your negative thoughts and turn them positive.

A counselor can also help with relaxation techniques. If stress is the cause of depression, a good way to combat that form of stress is through relaxation.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They can find out if it is caused by some circumstance recently, such as a loss in the family. They can look and see if there is something in the past that is causing this.Or they can look to see if it is something that is caused by your body.  Whether it is some physiological change.

Depression is a condition that is treatable. But when you don’t know what caused it, you will not be able to treat it.This where finding someone that is a good counselor or therapist will help tremendously.

When is the time for a Depression Counselor

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions.  It is an emotion if left untreated, could lead to more serious consequences for those suffering from it severely.

Everyone has those moments when they feel unhappy.  That is natural. But clinical depression goes beyond that.It is a disease.  But it is treatable.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So what makes depression, clinical depression?

Firstly, a person might start to feel like everything is hopeless and sad.  Where a person feels everything is pointless.Or life isn’t worth living. Which might lead to suicidal thoughts and feelings.

This can last for 2 weeks or more. When your depression is lasting that long, that is when you are moving to the state of clinical depression.

And it is when you start hitting that point, you need to see a therapist.Don’t leave this condition untreated if you find yourself at that point.Take my word for it, I have learned this from my experience in depression counseling.

So once you do hit that point, you need to do several things. Because some depression is caused by imbalances in your body or the chemistry in your brain, you may need to treat it medically. You could use antdrepressant drugs as treatment.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.A good counselor helps a person understand and come to grips the the causes of their depression.

They can also try other forms of therapy like cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you think.  The goal being to question your negative thoughts and turn them positive.

A therapist can also help you use relaxation techniques.  If the depression is caused by stress, using relaxation will help combat that form of stress.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They are good at looking and seeing if a circumstance like a loss in the family is the cause.  They can find out if it is caused by something that happened in the past.Or they can try to see if something is going in your body that is causing it.Whether there was some physiological change.

Depression is a condition that is treatable. But when the cause is not known, there is no way to treat it.  That is where finding a good therapist or counselor can help tremendously.
