Don’t Just Renew – Review Your Insurance!

If one of your insurance policies is returning up to renewal – as an example, your household, motor, pet or annual travel insurance policy – don’t automatically settle for that your current insurer is giving you the simplest deal there is.

Most insurers recognize that when it involves renewal time, around 70% of their customers can settle for the quote, without even seeing if they might get it cheaper elsewhere. This could be as a result of the purchasers feel don’t have the time or the inclination to hassle or genuinely believe they’re being offered the most effective deal there is.

But, this complacency may cost the patron tens – even lots – of pounds every year. Insurers are running a business once all and most will not reward their customers with cheaper premiums for loyally sticking by them. 

By looking around – either by going on-line or by using an freelance broker – you could save yourself a hefty wad of cash and it doesn’t have to be a time consuming exercise.

And while the typical client is probably sick of being told that “you need to shop around” even the Financial Services Authority (FSA – which is the independent regulator set up by Government to seem after the money services industry and protect consumers – advocate it!

Do note however that when trying for a cheaper deal, whilst price is important, you must never, ever compromise on cover.  No doubt, there will always be an enticing home or motor insurance deal on the market, however the quilt might not be adequate for your needs. The total insured could not be enough or the policy might not have the same features and benefits.

Thus, continually compare any new quote on a like for like basis along with your existing cowl and not forgetting to look at the small print and any exclusions.

It doesn’t take long to urge various quotes and in most cases, you’ll be quids in!
